Welcome to the home page of Troop 173 of York, Nebraska.  We are chartered by Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Our mission is to provide a safe, positive environment for boys to come together. The purpose of which is to learn leadership skills, through adult supervision, and in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Boy Scouts of America.

The troop is divided up into patrols of ten to fifteen scouts. The senior scouts are the experienced, older and trained Scouts of the Troop. Each patrol has a Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and a Troop Guide. At the Patrol Leader's Council, on the third Monday of the month, the Patrol Leaders plan for the next months campout and the next three Troop Meetings. Once a month, the Scout leadership has a meeting to plan for the next months activities. The Scout Leadership consists of the Senior Patrol Leader and the Patrol Leader Council.

The objective of Troop 173 is to provide a scout run program in which young men have the opportunity to develop and hone their leadership skills. The Scouts will plan and execute their own program. With the help of volunteer Scouters and parent participation, the Scouts are well supported.
